April 15

Morning

“The one who will rescue them is strong.” — Jer 50:34 NET

Certainly I am aware of your many rebellious acts and your numerous sins.—“I have energized a warrior.”—“I am the Lord, your deliverer, your protector, the powerful ruler of Jacob.”—“Able to deliver!”—Able to keep you from falling.—Where sin increased, grace multiplied all the more.

“The one who believes in him is not condemned. The one who does not believe has been condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.”—So he is able to save completely those who come to God through him.

“Is my hand too weak to deliver you?”

Who will separate us from the love of Christ? … For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Amos 5:12, Ps 89:19, Isa 49:26, Isa 63:1, Jude 1:24, Rom 5:20, John 3:18, Heb 7:25, Isa 50:2, Rom 8:35, Rom 8:38-39

Evening

“Are you looking for great things for yourself? Do not look for such things.” — Jer 45:5 NET

“Take my yoke on you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”—You should have the same attitude toward one another that Christ Jesus had, who though he existed in the form of God did not regard equality with God as something to be grasped, but emptied himself by taking on the form of a slave, by looking like other men, and by sharing in human nature. He humbled himself, by becoming obedient to the point of death – even death on a cross!

“And whoever does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.”—Christ … suffered for you, leaving an example for you to follow in his steps.

Now godliness combined with contentment brings great profit. For we have brought nothing into this world and so we cannot take a single thing out either. But if we have food and shelter, we will be satisfied with that.

I have learned to be content in any circumstance.
