“Let it happen now, for it is right for us to fulfill all righteousness.” — Matt 3:15 NET
“I want to do what pleases you, my God. Your law dominates my thoughts.”
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have not come to abolish these things but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth pass away not the smallest letter or stroke of a letter will pass from the law until everything takes place.”—The Lord wanted to exhibit his justice by magnifying his law and displaying it.—“For I tell you, unless your righteousness goes beyond that of the experts in the law and the Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
For God achieved what the law could not do because it was weakened through the flesh. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and concerning sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, so that the righteous requirement of the law may be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. —Christ is the end of the law, with the result that there is righteousness for everyone who believes.

“I am your portion and your inheritance.” — Num 18:20 NET
Whom do I have in heaven but you? I desire no one but you on earth. My flesh and my heart may grow weak, but God always protects my heart and gives me stability.—Lord, you give me stability and prosperity; you make my future secure. It is as if I have been given fertile fields or received a beautiful tract of land.
“My portion is the Lord,” I have said to myself, so I will put my hope in him.
I claim your rules as my permanent possession, for they give me joy.
O God, you are my God! I long for you! My soul thirsts for you, my flesh yearns for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. … For you are my deliverer; under your wings I rejoice.
My lover is mine and I am his.
