So I want the men to pray in every place, lifting up holy hands without anger or dispute. — 1 Tim 2:8 NET

“The true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such people to be his worshipers. God is spirit, and the people who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”—“Then you will call out, and the Lord will respond; you will cry out, and he will reply, ’Here I am.’”—“Whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him.”

Now without faith it is impossible to please him, for the one who approaches God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.—But he must ask in faith without doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed around by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord.

If I had harbored sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.—My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous One, and he himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins.

My heart beats quickly; my strength leaves me. — Ps 38:10 NET

O God, hear my cry for help! Pay attention to my prayer! From the most remote place on earth I call out to you in my despair. Lead me up to an inaccessible rocky summit!

But he said to me, “My grace is enough for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” So then, I will boast most gladly about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may reside in me. For whenever I am weak, then I am strong.

But when (Peter) saw the strong wind he became afraid. And starting to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him, saying to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”—If you faint in the day of trouble, your strength is small!—He gives strength to those who are tired; to the ones who lack power, he gives renewed energy.—“The everlasting God is a refuge, and underneath you are his eternal arms.”—Being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might.
