To share in his sufferings. — Phil 3:10 NET

“It is enough for the disciple to become like his teacher, and the slave like his master.”

He was despised and rejected by people, one who experienced pain and was acquainted with illness; people hid their faces from him; he was despised, and we considered him insignificant.—“In the world you have trouble and suffering.”—“Because you do not belong to the world, but I chose you out of the world, for this reason the world hates you.”

I look for sympathy, but receive none, for comforters, but find none.—At my first defense no one appeared in my support; instead they all deserted me.

“Foxes have dens, and the birds in the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”—For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.

And run with endurance the race set out for us, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy set out for him he endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.

But they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb. — Rev 12:11 NET

Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is the one who will condemn? Christ is the one who died .—For the blood makes atonement by means of the life.—“I am the Lord. The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, so that when I see the blood I will pass over you.”

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

“These dressed in long white robes – who are they and where have they come from? These are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb!”

To the one who loves us and has set us free from our sins at the cost of his own blood and has appointed us as a kingdom, as priests serving his God and Father – to him be the glory and the power for ever and ever! Amen.
