Morning

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes … death will not exist any more – or mourning … for the former things have ceased to exist.” — Rev 21:4 NET

He will swallow up death permanently. The sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from every face, and remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth. Indeed, the Lord has announced it!—Your sun will no longer set; your moon will not disappear; the Lord will be your permanent source of light; your time of sorrow will be over.—No resident of Zion will say, “I am ill”; the people who live there will have their sin forgiven.—“The sound of weeping or cries of sorrow will never be heard in her again.”—Grief and suffering will disappear.

Will I deliver them from the power of Sheol? No, I will not! Will I redeem them from death? No, I will not! O Death, bring on your plagues! O Sheol, bring on your destruction! My eyes will not show any compassion!—The last enemy to be eliminated is death. Then the saying that is written will happen, “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

What cannot be seen is eternal.

Evening

He raised us up with him … in Christ Jesus. — Eph 2:6 NET

“Do not be afraid! I am … the one who lives!”—“Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am.”

For we are members of his body.—He is the head of the body, the church, as well as the beginning, the firstborn from among the dead.—You have been filled in him, who is the head.

Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, he likewise shared in their humanity, so that through death he could destroy the one who holds the power of death (that is, the devil), and set free those who were held in slavery all their lives by their fear of death.

For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. Now when this perishable puts on the imperishable, and this mortal puts on immortality, then the saying that is written will happen, “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
