“I am the Lord your God; follow my statutes, observe my regulations, and carry them out.” — Ezek 20:19 NET
But, like the Holy One who called you, become holy yourselves in all of your conduct.—The one who says he resides in God ought himself to walk just as Jesus walked. If you know that he is righteous, you also know that everyone who practices righteousness has been fathered by him.—Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing. Instead, keeping God’s commandments is what counts.—For the one who obeys the whole law but fails in one point has become guilty of all of it.
Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as if it were coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God.—Teach me, O Lord, the lifestyle prescribed by your statutes.
Continue working out your salvation with awe and reverence, for the one bringing forth in you both the desire and the effort – for the sake of his good pleasure – is God.—Now may the God of peace … equip you with every good thing to do his will, working in us what is pleasing before him through Jesus Christ.

“I have raised up a young man from the people.” — Ps 89:19 NET
For surely his concern is not for angels, but he is concerned for Abraham’s descendants. Therefore he had to be made like his brothers and sisters in every respect.—High above on the throne was a form that appeared to be a man.—“The one who descended from heaven – the Son of Man.”—“Look at my hands and my feet; it’s me! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones like you see I have.”
[He] emptied himself by taking on the form of a slave, by looking like other men, and by sharing in human nature. He humbled himself, by becoming obedient to the point of death – even death on a cross! As a result God exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow.—“Wake up then, and strengthen what remains that was about to die, because I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God.”
