“I have energized a warrior; I have raised up a young man from the people.” — Ps 89:19 NET
“I, I am the Lord, and there is no deliverer besides me.”—There is one God and one intermediary between God and humanity, Christ Jesus, himself human.—“There is no other name under heaven given among people by which we must be saved.”
Mighty God.—[He] emptied himself by taking on the form of a slave, by looking like other men, and by sharing in human nature. He humbled himself, by becoming obedient to the point of death – even death on a cross! As a result God exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name.—We see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by God’s grace he would experience death on behalf of everyone.—Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, he likewise shared in their humanity.
Isa 43:11, 1 Tim 2:5, Acts 4:12, Isa 9:6, Phil 2:7-9, Heb 2:9, Heb 2:14
“Assemble my covenant people before me, those who ratified a covenant with me by sacrifice!” — Ps 50:5 NET
Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many, to those who eagerly await him he will appear a second time, not to bear sin but to bring salvation.—He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the eternal inheritance he has promised, since he died to set them free from the violations committed under the first covenant.
“Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am.”—“Then he will send angels and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.”—“Even if your exiles are in the most distant land, from there the Lord your God will gather you and bring you back.”
The dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be suddenly caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord.
