And let endurance have its perfect effect, so that you will be perfect and complete, not deficient in anything. — Jas 1:4 NET

Although you may have to suffer for a short time in various trials. Such trials show the proven character of your faith, which is much more valuable than gold – gold that is tested by fire, even though it is passing away – and will bring praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.—Not only this, but we also rejoice in sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance, character, and character, hope.

It is good to wait patiently for deliverance from the Lord.—You knew that you certainly had a better and lasting possession. So do not throw away your confidence, because it has great reward. For you need endurance in order to do God’s will and so receive what is promised.—Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by grace gave us eternal comfort and good hope, encourage your hearts.

God will judge the secrets of human hearts, according to my gospel through Christ Jesus. — Rom 2:16 NET

So then, do not judge anything before the time. Wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the motives of hearts. Then each will receive recognition from God.—“The Father does not judge anyone, but has assigned all judgment to the Son,… and he has granted the Son authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man.”—“To the angel of the church in Thyatira write the following: ’This is the … the Son of God, the one who has eyes like a fiery flame.’”

They say, “How does God know what we do? Is the sovereign one aware of what goes on?”—“When you did these things, I was silent, so you thought I was exactly like you. But now I will condemn you and state my case against you!”—“Nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, and nothing is secret that will not be made known.”

O Lord, you understand my heart’s desire; my groaning is not hidden from you.—Examine me, O Lord, and test me! Evaluate my inner thoughts and motives!
