Morning

“Wisdom – where can it be found?” — Job 28:12 NET

If anyone is deficient in wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without reprimand, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without doubting.—Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. Acknowledge him in all your ways, and he will make your paths straight.—The only [wise] God.—Do not be wise in your own estimation.

“Oh, Lord God, I really do not know how to speak well enough for that, for I am too young.” The Lord said to me, “Do not say, ’I am too young.’ But go to whomever I send you and say whatever I tell you. Do not be afraid of those to whom I send you, for I will be with you to protect you,” says the Lord.

“Whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive it, so that your joy may be complete.”—“And whatever you ask in prayer, if you believe, you will receive.”

Evening

“I do not want to live forever.” — Job 7:16 NET

I say, “I wish I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and settle in a safe place!… I will hurry off to a place that is safe from the strong wind and the gale.”

For in this earthly house we groan, because we desire to put on our heavenly dwelling,… For we groan while we are in this tent, since we are weighed down, because we do not want to be unclothed, but clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.—I have a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far.

Run with endurance the race set out for us, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy set out for him he endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God. Think of him who endured such opposition against himself by sinners, so that you may not grow weary in your souls and give up.

“Do not let your hearts be distressed or lacking in courage.”

Ps 55:6, Ps 55:8, 2 Cor 5:2, 2 Cor 5:4, Phil 1:23, Heb 12:1-3, John 14:27
