God made the one who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that in him we would become the righteousness of God. — 2 Cor 5:21 NET
The Lord caused the sin of all of us to attack him.—He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we may cease from sinning and live for righteousness. By his wounds you were healed.—For just as through the disobedience of the one man many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of one man many will be made righteous.
But “when the kindness of God our Savior and his love for mankind appeared, he saved us not by works of righteousness that we have done but on the basis of his mercy, through the washing of the new birth and the renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us in full measure through Jesus Christ our Savior. And so, since we have been justified by his grace, we become heirs with the confident expectation of eternal life.”—There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
“The Lord has provided us with justice.”

I will be like the dew to Israel. — Hos 14:5 NET
The meekness and gentleness of Christ.—A crushed reed he will not break, a dim wick he will not extinguish.
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and the regaining of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”… Then he began to tell them, “Today this scripture has been fulfilled even as you heard it being read.” All were speaking well of him, and were amazed at the gracious words coming out of his mouth.
Then the Lord turned and looked straight at Peter, and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said to him, “Before a rooster crows today, you will deny me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly.—Like a shepherd he tends his flock; he gathers up the lambs with his arm; he carries them close to his heart; he leads the ewes along.
