Morning

They rejoice in your name all day long, and are vindicated by your justice. — Ps 89:16 NET

They will say about me, “Yes, the Lord is a powerful deliverer. All who are angry at him will cower before him. All the descendants of Israel will be vindicated by the Lord and will boast in him.”—Rejoice in the Lord and be happy, you who are godly! Shout for joy, all you who are morally upright!

But now apart from the law the righteousness of God (which is attested by the law and the prophets) has been disclosed – namely, the righteousness of God through the faithfulness of Jesus Christ for all who believe…. This was also to demonstrate his righteousness in the present time, so that he would be just and the justifier of the one who lives because of Jesus’ faithfulness.

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, rejoice!—You have not seen him, but you love him. You do not see him now but you believe in him, and so you rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy.

Evening

(For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever, Amen.) — Matt 6:13 NET

The Lord reigns! He is robed in majesty,… Your throne has been secure from ancient times; you have always been king.

The Lord is… great in power.—If God is for us, who can be against us?—“Our God whom we are serving … is able to rescue us … and he will rescue us.”—“My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can snatch them from my Father’s hand.”—The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

Not to us, O Lord, not to us! But to your name bring honor.—“O Lord, you are great, mighty, majestic, magnificent, glorious, and sovereign over all the sky and earth! You have dominion and exalt yourself as the ruler of all…. Now, our God, we give thanks to you and praise your majestic name! But who am I and who are my people, that we should be in a position to contribute this much? Indeed, everything comes from you, and we have simply given back to you what is yours.”
