“He knows the pathway that I take; if he tested me, I would come forth like gold.” — Job 23:10 NET
He knows what we are made of.—He is not predisposed to afflict or to grieve people.
God’s solid foundation remains standing, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from evil.” Now in a wealthy home there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also ones made of wood and of clay, and some are for honorable use, but others for ignoble use. So if someone cleanses himself of such behavior, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart, useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.
He will act like a refiner and purifier of silver and will cleanse the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then they will offer the Lord a proper offering.—“I will refine them like silver is refined… They will call on my name and I will answer; I will say, ’These are my people,’ and they will say, ’The Lord is my God.’”

Make me understand your ways, O Lord! Teach me your paths! — Ps 25:4 NET
Moses said to the Lord,… “If I have found favor in your sight, show me your way, that I may know you,…” And the Lord said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”—The Lord revealed his faithful acts to Moses, his deeds to the Israelites.
May he show the humble what is right! May he teach the humble his way!… The Lord shows his faithful followers the way they should live.—Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. Acknowledge him in all your ways, and he will make your paths straight.
You lead me in the path of life; I experience absolute joy in your presence; you always give me sheer delight.—I will instruct and teach you about how you should live. I will advise you as I look you in the eye.—The path of the righteous is like the bright morning light, growing brighter and brighter until full day.
