Morning

“Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light.” — Luke 11:34 NET

The unbeliever does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him. And he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.—Open my eyes so I can truly see the marvelous things in your law!

“I am the light of the world. The one who follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”—And we all, with unveiled faces reflecting the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image … which is from the Lord, who is the Spirit.—For God, who said “Let light shine out of darkness,” is the one who shined in our hearts to give us the light of the glorious knowledge of God in the face of Christ.

The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, … give you spiritual wisdom and revelation in your growing knowledge of him, … so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, what is the wealth of his glorious inheritance in the saints.

Evening

“He struck a rock and water flowed out, streams gushed forth.” — Ps 78:20 NET

Our fathers were all under the cloud and all passed through the sea, and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, and all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they were all drinking from the spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ.—But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and blood and water flowed out immediately.—He was wounded because of our rebellious deeds, crushed because of our sins; he endured punishment that made us well; because of his wounds we have been healed.

“You are not willing to come to me so that you may have life.”—“My people have committed a double wrong: they have rejected me, the fountain of life-giving water, and they have dug cisterns for themselves, cracked cisterns which cannot even hold water.”

“If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me, and let the one who believes in me drink.”—Let the one who wants it take the water of life free of charge.
