Morning

“I have seen their behavior, but I will heal them.” — Isa 57:18 NET

“I, the Lord, am your healer.”

O Lord, you examine me and know. You know when I sit down and when I get up; even from far away you understand my motives. You carefully observe me when I travel or when I lie down to rest; you are aware of everything I do.—You are aware of our sins; you even know about our hidden sins.—Everything is naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must render an account.

“Come, let’s consider your options,” says the Lord. “Though your sins have stained you like the color red, you can become white like snow; though they are as easy to see as the color scarlet, you can become white like wool.”—“God is gracious to him and says, ’Spare him from going down to the place of corruption, I have found a ransom for him.’”—He was wounded because of our rebellious deeds, crushed because of our sins; he endured punishment that made us well; because of his wounds we have been healed.—He has commissioned me … to help the brokenhearted.—“Your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your disease.”

Evening

The Lord is on my side as my helper. — Ps 118:7 NET

May the Lord answer you when you are in trouble; may the God of Jacob make you secure! May he send you help from his temple; from Zion may he give you support!… Then we will shout for joy over your victory; we will rejoice in the name of our God!… Some trust in chariots and others in horses, but we depend on the Lord our God. They will fall down, but we will stand firm.

For he comes like a rushing stream driven on by wind sent from the Lord.—No trial has overtaken you that is not faced by others. And God is faithful: He will not let you be tried beyond what you are able to bear, but with the trial will also provide a way out so that you may be able to endure it.—If God is for us, who can be against us?—The Lord is on my side, I am not afraid!—“Our God whom we are serving… is able to rescue us… and he will rescue us.”
